Tomba di giganti Coddu Ecchju

Coddu Ecchju is a giants' tomb bearing witness to the evolution of funerary architecture through the Bronze Age. Originally a dolmen corridor tomb (allée couverte), it consisted of a rectangular corridor covered with large horizontal slabs and a floor of small flagstones.
In the Middle Bronze Age the corridor tomb was transformed into a giants' tomb with three elements that still characterise it: the semicircular enclosure for the faithful, called exedra; the vertical slabs set into the ground delimiting the exedra with progressive heights, called orthostats; and the great arched stele, the imposing vertical slab at the centre of the exedra. About four metres high, the stele is made of two overlapping slabs with a low-relief frame.
The ceramic and metal finds document both the architectural transformation and the long continuity of use of the monument.
